01Read this before you decide

AI knows accounting.
Just not your framework.

This page answers an honest question: why pay for a prompt when you can just ask ChatGPT? If you still think you don’t need it by the end, you’re probably right.

02What usually happens

Twenty messages for a report your AI should have nailed the first time.

One monthly report, one client, one trial balance. This is what an accountant types when the AI doesn’t have the manual for their framework or their firm.

  1. 01Write me a monthly management report for October from this trial balance.
  2. 02This client reports under IFRS: it’s “profit for the year”, not “net earnings”.
  3. 03The separators are the wrong way round for this client’s language.
  4. 04Drop the cents: the report is in thousands.
  5. 05Where did “favorable market conditions” come from?
  6. Got it. Here’s the corrected version…
  7. 06Total expenses don’t add up. Sum them again.
  8. 07Still wrong. You’re 3.2 over.
  9. 08The heading “Sales” says nothing. Did they go up or down?
  10. 09Compare against October last year, not September.
  11. 10The parent’s year ends in June: year-to-date runs July to June.
  12. Got it. Here’s the corrected version…
  13. 11Remove the emojis.
  14. 12I don’t want three bullets full of adjectives. Give me numbers.
  15. 13That statement has a different name under this client’s framework.
  16. 14A pie chart with 9 slices is unreadable. Change it.
  17. 15The Excel file has pasted values. I need formulas.
  18. Got it. Here’s the corrected version…
  19. 16Why doesn’t cash reconcile with the balance sheet?
  20. 17Add the decisions we need from the owner this month.
  21. 18“Optimize costs” is not a decision.
  22. 19You wrote “net earnings” again.
  23. 20I’d better start over.

Twenty messages later, you were the reviewer and the AI was the intern. It didn’t lack capability: it lacked your firm’s manual.

03The real problem

It’s not capability. It’s context.

AI knows what an income statement is. It doesn’t know which term your accounting framework uses, which thousands separator your reader expects, which unit you report in, what materiality you apply, or that a total that doesn’t reconcile must stop everything.

None of that ships with the model. It comes from the Repporti Standard —today 37 countries with their own profile and 26 accounting frameworks— and from your firm’s manual.

Results for the month

Net earnings (error 1) for the month came to 497.900,00 $ (error 2), a solid result. EBITDA, the statement’s first subtotal, (error 3) reached 1,085 thanks to favorable market conditions (error 5).

Administrative expenses1,263.0
Selling expenses1,019.0
Total expenses2,285.2 (error 4)
  1. 1Terminology“Net earnings” here, “profit for the year” two pages later: your framework and your regional variant fix a single term.
  2. 2Format497.900,00 $: another language’s separators and cents in a report stated in thousands.
  3. 3FrameworkEBITDA shown as a statement subtotal: your framework doesn’t define it; it goes as an alternative measure, reconciled.
  4. 4ControlsTotal expenses don’t match the table: 3.2 too much.
  5. 5Writing“Favorable market conditions”: a made-up cause.
Sample page with fictitious data for Meridian Coffee Co. (Demo), USD thousands. Five variables the AI doesn’t resolve on its own: terminology, format, framework, controls and writing.

04What changes

From twelve words to a complete manual.

Without Repporti · 12 words

“Write a monthly management report for the owner from this trial balance.”

The AI has to guess the country, the accounting framework, the format, the currency, what to compare, what to check and how to write. It guesses with whatever it has read the most.

08How we test

Quality isn’t promised. It can be verified.

Controls by code

Every item declares its controls; 310 are published today. cuadre.py computes them inside your AI and stops if any fails.

Tests in ChatGPT and Claude

The first round is under way. The “Tested” seal appears on an item only when the test is real.

Public changelog

Every version, every change to the Repporti Standard and every fix is written down with its date in the Changelog.

Supporting draft; it does not replace your accountant, statutory auditor or external auditor. See the changelog

10Before you decide

The objections, straight up.

01Isn’t this just text I could write myself?

Yes. What you pay for is the 16 decisions already made, the monthly tests and the Standard updates whenever a rule changes in any of its 37 countries. If you have the time to write and maintain it, you probably don’t need it.

02What if I copy a prompt and cancel?

You can. The reports you generated are yours. You lose the weekly drops and the Standard updates. The license doesn’t allow redistributing the prompts.

03Does my data go through Repporti?

Your figures don’t. Repporti has no field to upload figures: the prompt is assembled in your browser and you paste it into your AI.

04What if my AI can’t run code?

Use no-code mode: the Excel file comes with live formulas and a Control sheet to check by hand, and the footer says “NOT VERIFIED” until you review it.

05Is it for certified financial statements?

No. These are management reports: supporting drafts that don’t replace your accountant, statutory auditor or external auditor.

06Does it work with my accounting software?

With any trial balance exported to Excel or CSV, from any software and any chart of accounts. The prompt reads each account’s code and name and asks you when one doesn’t fit.

07What if I find a mistake?

You report it, we fix it and it’s written down in the public changelog with the corrected version.

08What happens after I pay?

Immediate access to your plan and a 14-day guarantee on your first payment if you copied 10 premium items or fewer.

Your AI already knows how to write. Give it your country’s standard.
