Mercury · Monthly investor update
The email your investors read in two minutes: metrics against last month and last year, cash, runway and concrete asks.
Turns your monthly KPI series into this month's investor update: a subject line with the number that matters, a three-bullet TL;DR, the metrics table with month-over-month and year-over-year change, what went well, what didn't and how they can help. Includes a KPI slide to attach.
Net burn and runway come from a deterministic script that nets out financing received and uses the average of the last three months. If cash goes up without a recorded round or loan, the AI stops and asks before calculating.
Bad news is not hidden: lowlights come with a figure and the action being taken, and the asks come from your notes, never from the model's imagination. No pitch adjectives, no invented projections.

Controls 4/4
What it checks before writing a single figure
C1Complete series: consecutive months with no duplicates, cash in every month and MRR or revenue.
C2Cash continuity: prior-month cash + net flow = month cash (N/A if the series has no net flow).
C3Burn net of financing: if cash goes up, the equity or loan is recorded or confirmed.
C4Traceable figures: every figure in the email and the slide exists in calculo.json and the subject goes in the direction of the main metric.

Questions
About this report
How is runway calculated?
Month-end cash divided by the average net burn of the last three months. Net burn excludes equity and loans received, so a round does not make it look as if the company stopped spending.
What if my company reports in dollars and I write in Spanish?
Set USD as the currency in your reporting profile. The number format follows the report's language and variant; if your investors read English, switch the report language.
Can it invent wins or asks?
No. Highlights, lowlights and asks come from your notes for the month. If some are missing, the email marks them «[to be confirmed by the founder]» instead of filling them in.
