Printable monochrome
Greyscale and hatching only, to print in black and white or photocopy without losing the distinction between actual, plan and prior year.
A theme for reports read on paper: board meetings, shareholders and banks. Actuals are solid dark grey, plan has a 1.5 pt outline, prior year is light grey and forecast is hatched; unfavourable variances carry dark hatching, a sign and ▼, because in black and white colour does not exist.
The prompt generates the Word, Excel and PowerPoint templates (with real pattern fills in charts) and the Power BI JSON theme, or converts one of your reports to greys without touching a figure. It measures contrast, the lightness gap between scenarios and the minimum weight of every line in code.
Body text in Cambria for reading on paper, titles and figures in Arial, no line under 0.75 pt and nothing within 5 mm of the edge, so photocopies lose nothing.

What it checks before writing a single figure
C1WCAG contrast measured in code: text ≥ 4.5:1 and graphic elements ≥ 3:1, or the declared compensation (outline and direct label).
C2Scenarios distinguishable in grey: lightness gap L* ≥ 20 between neighbours, and favourable and unfavourable told apart by hatching and sign.
C3Print: no line under 0.75 pt and nothing within 5 mm of the edge.
C4Valid files: the 12 scheme greys in every theme1.xml, named styles, hatching in model charts, template content types and a Power BI JSON with 8 distinct greys.
C5Figures untouched: when the theme is applied to a report, every figure before and after matches.

Questions
About this theme
Can I use it on screen too?
Yes. It works the same on screen; it only loses the variance colours, which read through hatching, sign and ▲▼.
Does Power BI show the hatching?
No: Power BI has no pattern fills. In the Power BI theme variances are told apart by sign and label, and series by 8 distinct greys.
What printer do I need?
Any black-and-white printer. The prompt recommends printing a test page before the print run to confirm the hatching shows on your device.
