EBITDA bridge
The budget-to-actual EBITDA bridge (waterfall) that checks the math before drawing, rounds without breaking the totals and uses IBCS colors.
One chart that answers what moved EBITDA: from budget (or prior year) to actual, step by step, with the start and end bars resting on zero and the effects floating between them.
Before drawing, the script checks that start plus steps equals end and reconciles it to the income statement; if it does not tie, it does not draw. It picks the scale (thousands or millions of your currency) so the labels are readable and, if rounding breaks the total, it allocates the difference by largest remainder: the bridge as shown always ties.
It produces a native Excel chart (stacked columns linked to formulas, Control sheet = 0), the PNG and SVG for Word or PowerPoint, and the alt text. The AI only writes the title, and the script checks its figures and direction. EBITDA is labeled as an alternative performance measure, as your framework requires.
What it includes
4 sections, in this order
- 01Action title at the top left
- 02Solid start and end bars; floating steps with signs
- 03Dotted connectors and direct labels
- 04Footer with source, unit and seal
Controls 4/4
What it checks before writing a single figure
C1Structure: unique labels, at least one step, an action title and a subtitle.
C2The bridge ties: start + Σ steps = end, within half a displayed unit.
C3Reconciliation to source: start and end = budget and income statement EBITDA (N/A if not given).
C4Figures in the title, subtitle, source and alt text traceable, and a title in the bridge's direction.

Repporti Standard
It comes out adapted to your report profile
Compatible with every country and framework in the Standard: when you copy, it is composed with your profile (country, accounting framework, report language, currency, unit and year-end). Terminology, number format and statement names come from the Standard, not from the prompt.

- Company name → an alias (“Client 07”); tax ID → “ID-XX”.
- Customers, suppliers and employees → codes (C001, P001, E001). The mapping table stays on your computer.

Questions
About this chart
Why not use Excel's «Waterfall» chart?
Because it cannot be generated reliably by code and does not open in older versions. Stacked columns with an invisible base work in any Excel and stay linked to formulas.
Can I go from prior year to current year?
Yes. Change the start and end labels and the steps; the tie-out check and the rounding work the same way.
Is it called EBITDA in every country?
The chart uses the Standard's term for your country and language (EBITDA, UAFIDA, EBE…) and labels it as an alternative measure with its definition.
What if my AI cannot run code?
It delivers the table with formulas and instructions to build the chart in Excel, and the footer says «NOT VERIFIED».
