RAG KPI table
Indicators with green, amber and red thresholds that you define, trend against prior year and a one-line comment: the committee sees what is red and what is getting worse.
The RAG table (red, amber, green) summarizes 5 to 15 indicators in a single view: value, thresholds, status, trend against prior year and a short comment. Management or the committee approves the thresholds, not the AI: if an indicator has no threshold, it stays gray «no threshold» and the note says so.
Before building it, the deterministic kit validates the table and the script checks that the thresholds are in order for the indicator’s direction (for days sales outstanding, green sits below red) and that the count by status adds up to the total. If a threshold comes in reversed, it stops and asks: it does not «fix» it.
It delivers the table in Excel with conditional formatting (icon and word), the PNG and SVG for Word or PowerPoint, and the alt text. The status is always written as a word too: it reads in black and white and with color blindness.
What it includes
5 sections, in this order
- 01Action title with the count by status and the indicators outside green
- 02Indicator and formula, actual, green threshold and red threshold
- 03Status with a dot and a word (Green, Amber, Red, No threshold)
- 04Trend against prior year with ▲▼ and a figure
- 05One-line comment, only with a source; note with where thresholds come from, source and seal
Controls 4/4
What it checks before writing a single figure
C1Complete data: recognized headers, numeric figures, no repeated indicators and valid units.
C2Income statement subtotals tie if the table includes them (N/A for an indicator table).
C3Sign convention: costs and expenses with a single sign.
C4Figures in the title, comments, note and alt text traceable to calculo.json (values, thresholds and counts by status).

Questions
About this chart
Does the AI propose the thresholds?
No. Thresholds are a management or committee decision. If one is missing, the indicator stays «no threshold» and the note says so.
How does it handle indicators where lower is better?
With better = down, green sits below red: 36 days sales outstanding with green up to 35 and red above 50 is amber.
Where do the comments come from?
From your notes for the month or from the data. If there is no source, the comment says «[cause to be confirmed by …]» instead of inventing one.
Can I use it with the indicators from REP-007?
Yes: REP-007 calculates the indicators from the trial balance and this table presents them with your thresholds.
